The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global call to action for all countries—rich, poor, and middle-income—to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that drive inclusive economic growth, advance social equity, and safeguard the environment.
The 17 interconnected goals address a wide range of global challenges: no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, peace, justice and strong institutions, and partnerships for the goals. Together, these goals form a shared blueprint for dignity, peace, and prosperity for people and the planet—now and into the future.
