Are you passionate about creating meaningful change in your community and beyond? 

The UNA-Greater Chicago Chapter (UNA-GCC) is looking for dynamic individuals to serve as Global Goals Ambassadors — community leaders who represent one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inspire others to take action for a better world. 

Below is what you can expect — and what we expect of you — when you join this powerful network of changemakers.

• Familiarize yourself with all 17 Global Goals

• Dive deep into your assigned Goal—become a subject-matter expert, understanding both its nuances and sensitivities

• Learn the mission and strategy of UNA-GCC in advancing the SDGs locally

• Understand the social media strategy and campaigns used to promote the Global Goals

• Represent your Goal at a minimum of three events per year, including the UN Day Fundraiser and Awards Ceremony

• Be a champion for your Goal while advocating for all 17 SDGs

• Lead by example: use social media to raise awareness and share opportunities for engagement

• Promote “Selfies with Substance” at events — photos that raise awareness about your designated Goal

• Attend monthly ambassador meetings

• Commit to at least 4 hours per month on outreach and community involvement

• Become a member of UNA-GCC within 90 days of accepting the role

• Receive free Global Goals and UN swag

• Represent your Global Goal as an official ambassador in the Greater Chicago area

• Gain public recognition on UNA-GCC’s website and social media platforms

• Receive an invitation to the UN Day Fundraiser and Awards Ceremony at a discounted rate

PROCESS: To become an ambassador with UNA-USA Chicago, begin by completing the application form available. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed, and if selected, you will be invited to an interview. Candidates who complete the interview will receive a selection email and proceed through our official onboarding process. 

As a Global Goals Ambassador, you won’t just represent a goal, you’ll inspire a movement. If you’re passionate about international development, local engagement, and being a force for good, we invite you to join us.
