FROM GLOBAL TO LOCAL
Goal 8 promotes inclusive, sustainable economic growth and decent work for all. While global unemployment has declined since the pandemic, challenges remain, especially for youth, women, and informal workers.
Achieving this goal means expanding access to fair wages, safe working conditions, and financial services, while reducing inequalities in the labor market. Creating decent jobs, investing in education and skills, and supporting youth employment are key to building a more equitable and resilient global economy.
Treasure Thomas is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at Roosevelt University, with plans to attend law school after graduation to further her dedication to justice and advocacy. Her passion for criminal justice is rooted in the understanding that economic inequality often reinforces systemic barriers.
As an ambassador for Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, Treasure is committed to promoting access to opportunity as a path to empowerment. She believes that fair labor practices and sustainable economic growth are essential to improving quality of life around the world. Through her role, she aims to raise awareness, advocate for equitable policies, and inspire action toward a more just and inclusive economy.
