Young Professionals

Want to make the world a better place, but not sure where to start?

The UNA-USA Chicago Young Professionals Network seeks to engage young professionals in working together to make a positive impact on the international community. Through collaboration, YP members volunteer their time to advocate for international issues and innovate new ideas on how to facilitate global exchange. The Young Professionals Committee connects passionate early-career professionals across the Greater Chicago Area in their effort to advocate support for the UN.

As part of a diverse talent pool representing a range of fields, Young Professionals Committee members engage in educational and outreach opportunities which allow them to align their interests and experience with local and national UNA initiatives as well as UN Foundation initiatives such as GirlUp and Shot@Life.

What sets the Young Professionals Committee apart from other UNA-Chicago committees is its emphasis on career development. We work to create specific opportunities focusing on career development that are tailored to members’ skills and interests.

By joining the UNA-Chicago community, specifically as a Young Professional, you will have access to web content and information sessions about career opportunities with the United Nations, the U.S. Government, and internationally-focused non-governmental organizations (NGOs). You will also have the opportunity to network and collaborate with other ambitious individuals at local events here in Chicago as well as national events such as the Global Engagement Summit or the UNA-USA Leadership Summit. Finally, you will have a platform on which to demonstrate your leadership potential and grow specific skills that can be applied in your current or future career in this unique forum to engage with international issues.

As part of the young professionals network you’ll join a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about the work of the UN and we’re excited for you to “think local and act global” with us!
