UNA-GCC History
•2004
–Chapter was reinvigorated under Gabrielle Buckely at the request of Edison Dick (the Dick Family Foundation Grant we receive each year - his mother was a founding Chicago member)
–Aids Pandemic event with guest speaker General Daillaire - UNICEF was an affiliate
–Significant supporters of Model UN - assisted with monetary sponsorship of scarves and ties for the students to wear at the event. Roxxy Cooley (past board director) was associated with CPS Global Classrooms at the time and was involved with getting it implemented at the Middle School level with Akvile Cosimo Monkute as a Global Classrooms trainer.
•2006
–Coordination of Silence the Violence, a march led by Model UN Club kids to raise money to fight the violence against kids in Darfur and also those afflicted in Chicago by violence
•2008
–Members-only breakfast with Ban Ki Moon during his introductory US tour
•2010
–Haiti Earthquake Fundraising: trip to Haiti under Erica Green and Jan Douglas
•2011 & 2012
–Global Wake-Up Film Festival - held at Columbia College featuring film submissions from filmmakers around the world and shown over a two day span at Columbia College. Also an Awards Dinner and Reception held under the leadership of Claudia Jaccarino.

–Shot@Life Panel: Dr. Tan of Lurie Children's Hospital Infection Disease specialist, Dr. Cordes of Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine, Dr. LaVonne Downey of Roosevelt University held at Oak Park's West Suburban Hospital
