Welcome to the Greater Chicago Chapter of the United Nations Association of Chicago

The United Nations Association (UNAUSA) is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan organization that supports the work of the United Nations and encourages active civic participation in some of the most important issues facing the world today.  

Summary of Task Forces and Interesting Events: 

• The United Nations Association of Chicago and the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Latin America (CRLN), will sponsor a panel discussion entitled “Reclaiming Voices of a Lost Generation.” A Human Rights Panel Discussion takes place on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 12:30pm to 3pm. • The College Consortium has an upcoming meeting on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 4-6pm at Robert Morris University.  See the Events page for more information.
• The Global Wake-Up Film Festival was a huge success! For more information, please refer to the Global Wake-Up website.
• UNA Greater Chicago, Vice President of Public Relations Ms. Amrita Davis set up a meeting between Mayor Ralm Emanuel's office and the Luol Deng Foundation. 
• UNA Greater Chicago helped a helping hand with the Sudanese Independence Day Celebration  For more info visit: Events - (see article below)
• We work with universities and have a group called, "The College Consortium". More information on this initiative is under Task Forces. 
• Within weeks of the January 2010 earthquake, UNA Chicago organized a healthcare team - For more information on this refer to Task Forces. 

Our chapter is currently nominating new board members to be elected at our upcoming Annual Meeting.

UNA USA and The UN Foundation - Strategic Alliance and Partnership:

The United Nations Association of the USA has a partnership with the UN Foundation. This partnership provides new momentum to strengthen and deepen American support for the UN. Working together, UNA-USA and the UN Foundation will increase public education and advocacy on the work of the UN.
