Global Classrooms / Model UN program is a partnership between UNA-USA Greater Chicago Chapter and the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). At present 21 elective classes with fifteen teachers and over 500 students from twelve schools are involved in this program. Global Classrooms curriculums are acclimated to reflect the academic demands of a particular school, and the diverse needs of the students. Some schools provide intensive training in the specific aspects of the UNA-USA curriculum guides. Some schools adapt the materials to site specific needs. Since the inception three years ago, GC/MUN has created a strong presence in the CPS. The foundation of member schools, and veteran teachers, has led to new teachers and schools participating in the program. Participating schools this year are: Manley HS, Juarez HS, Kelly HS, Lincoln Park HS, Steinmetz HS, Sullivan HS, Tilden HS, Prosser HS, Mather HS, Brooks HS, Roosevelt HS and the Global Classroom club at Global Visions.
